The Ancient Art of Astrology
Astrology has been used in some form or another by every civilization known to mankind. Many people are simply not aware of the way it has been hidden in plain sight; even on the altars of religious institutions whose members have been taught it is somehow evil.

Consider Ezekiel’s Vision:
1:9 Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every
 one straight forward.

1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion,
on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face
 of an eagle. ~Ezekiel 1:9-10
This we find on many of the altars of Christian Church’s.
In astrology, this is known as: Aquarius/face of man, Leo/face of lion, Taurus/face of ox and
Scorpio/face of an eagle  respectively, which we call the ‘fixed cross’.

We must also consider the very birth of Christianity:
2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold,
there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

2:2 saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
 ~The Gospel according to Mathew
Notice they are referred to as wise men? Who followed a star?

Sixtus V had Domenico Fontana move it in 1586 to the center of St. Peter's Square.
Now let’s add some additional fun facts, from St. Peter’s Square site itself:

It is also a sun dial, its shadows mark noon over the signs of the zodiac in the white marble disks in the paving of the square. The obelisk rests upon four couchant lions, each with two bodies whose tails intertwine.
From: 'Seminarians Guide'
Obelisk is from obeliscus - "in the shape of a spear". For pagans, the obelisk was a solar  symbol that represented a vital flow between heaven and earth, a way of communicating to the divine.
The Law of Correspondence is referred to over and over in all mythologies, if one but has the eyes to see: “As Above, So Below”.
In Mathew 7:7-8, we find:
Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Confucius is said to have treated astrology with respect saying: "Heaven sends down its good or evil symbols and wise men act accordingly".
The 60 year cycle combining the five elements with the twelve animal signs of the zodiac has been documented in China since at least the time of the Shang (Shing or Yin) dynasty (ca 1766 BC – ca 1050 BC).

“Your soul knows the geography of your destiny. Your soul alone has the map of your future, therefore you
can trust this indirect, oblique side of yourself. If you do, it will take you where you need to go...”
― John O'Donohue, Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom.

All over our little blue ball we call earth; civilizations have created sacred temples oriented to the directions,
to the sun, moon, equinoxes and all the great gateways, including the orbital path of Venus as is the case
with the Mayan and Aztec cultures.
Stonehenge, The Pyramids at Giza, or Chichen Itza for example; Where on the Spring and
Autumn equinoxes, in the late afternoon, the northwest corner of the pyramid casts a series of triangular shadows against the western balustrade on the north side that evokes the appearance of a serpent wriggling down the staircase. Some have suggested the effect was an intentional design by the Maya builders to represent the feathered-serpent god Kukulcan.
I wonder how many people would travel on an ocean voyage without charts to steer their ship. Do you want to court dis-aster? (Aster: The stars and ‘dis’ being without following them?)
No one here asserts that one should give up their spiritual belief or study and replace that altogether with astrology. I would suggest that astrology has been written or coded if you will, into all major spiritual belief systems.
As far back as 25,000 years ago, humans designed bones and marked cave walls with cycles of the moon. We find evidence of such, following the moons effects on tides and rivers. (Humans and the earth are made up of over 75% water).

And here we can make a simple reference:
There is scattered evidence to suggest that the oldest known astrological references are copies of texts made in the ancient world. Two, from the Venus tablet of Ammisaduqa (compiled in Babylon around 1700 BCE) are reported to have been made during the reign of king Sargon of Akkad (2334–2279 BCE).[31] Another, showing an early use of electional astrology, is ascribed to the reign of the Sumerian ruler Gudea of Lagash (c. 2144 – 2124 BCE). This describes how the gods revealed to him in a dream the constellations that would be most favorable for the planned construction of a temple.[32] However, there is controversy about whether they were genuinely recorded at the time or merely ascribed to ancient rulers by posterity. The oldest undisputed evidence of the use of astrology as an integrated system of knowledge is therefore attributed to the records of the first dynasty of Mesopotamia (1950–1651 BCE). This astrology had a small number of parallels with Hellenistic Greek (western) astrology, including the zodiac, a norming point near 9 degrees in Aries, the trine aspect, planetary exaltations, and the dodekatemoria (the twelve divisions of 30 degrees each).[33] However the Babylonians viewed celestial events as possible signs rather than as causes of physical events.[33]

The system of Chinese astrology was elaborated during the Zhou dynasty (1046–256 BCE) and flourished during the Han Dynasty (2nd century BCE to 2nd century CE), during which all the familiar elements of traditional Chinese culture – the Yin-Yang philosophy, theory of the five elements, Heaven and Earth, Confucian morality – were brought together to formalise the philosophical principles of Chinese medicine and divination, astrology and alchemy.~ Wikipedia

Ok, so all of that is a long story to show the use of astrology and its origins, but what is Astrology and how can we use it in our daily lives?

Astrology Uses and Meanings

Astrology is the study of the relationships between the planetary forces and movements and their effects upon man. It is a cosmic blueprint of who you are, what your strengths and weaknesses might be and what path or trajectory your soul might take in this world, based upon your own previous lives, actions and lessons learned along with karmic debt and reward.

Your astrological blueprint or ‘chart’ as it is called, can reveal your character and shed light on what the stars have in mind for your destiny as you co-designed them with the Great Architect (God) at the helm.
Once a good astrologer deciphers your chart, you have the ability to become conscious of your weaknesses and strengths, and using your WILL and Spiritual Heritage, manifest, redeem or change your DESTINY through conscious application.

A skilled astrologer can help forewarn of health concerns and sickness, potential career issues,
romantic involvements and relationships, vocational guidance and the best times
to implement certain activities.
The blueprint or chart can be used by parents to give them a better guide to raise
their children and the techniques that might work best to help a child rise to their
 highest potential in this world.

It is said that the wise man rules with the stars, he aligns with them where the fool is ruled by them and walks unaware of the vast potential within and without.  Your chart will show your tendencies, but it is up to you to utilize your own gifts and willpower to navigate and align with the Divine.
Astrology can show potential obstacles and using this one can better navigate through the trials and tribulations of life, being prepared is always the best plan.

There are malefic and positive configurations in any chart, which is not by any
means a punishment, rather they are the rewards and consequences of the lives
we have lived before and now we must awaken to our participation and use wisdom
to remedy or utilize those aspects.
What may seem as difficulties in this life can be mitigated in our future walks,
as we apply ourselves during this life.

Consider the Law of Consequence ("Whatsoever a man sows, that he shall also reap")
works in harmony with the planets.
The spirit is born into the physical world at that opportune time when the Law
and the planets may operate in harmony with each other.

When someone is perplexed as to how the Great Design of our Cosmological System might or might not affect us, I remind them that they use all kinds of gadgets now, with no strings or wires attached, and without their understanding, the signals complete with image and sound can travel from one place to the next.
The sun will rise on the horizon, and much of nature will arise with him, plants excited to see the golden warming rays again, facing the direction and opening to receive.
We can detect mineral, gaseous or water content on planets, based on the shifting color rays and distances recorded by new technologies.

You came into this world at a specific time and place and there is no other like you.
Even a matter of minutes will make all the difference in the world. So reading a chart is much deeper than simply knowing ‘your sign’.
Where was your sun expressing itself through by house placement? We look at the Greatest Invention of all time (The Wheel) based on your time of birth, to note house placement. There are 12 houses in the zodiac. Each house represents a department in life and is ruled by a zodiac sign, one of the elements and is associated with one of the three crosses of the zodiac: Cardinal, Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn; Fixed, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, and Mutable, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.

Based on where your planets are located in these houses and the aspects they make to each other (Squares, Sextile, Trines, Oppositions, etc.) your divine cosmological blueprint emerges which indicates your basic temperament, constitution, proclivities and attitude towards life.
Knowing what these planetary messengers of God have in store for you, and aligning yourself with the Divine Mind, seems the most obvious and logical course to take.
After all, the word ‘Element’ can be broken down as thus:
El (God of the Old Testament and also known as Saturn or Lord of the Rings) and Ment (as in mental or mind) therefore we see that element, actually means ‘God Mind’ or 'The Mind'.

So, what do the wheels within wheels have in store for you? How might the messengers of God travel through your own chart and trip the circuits that you have been coded with?
What opportunities await you and how can you best evolve and allow for the utmost expression of your soul?

You are the grandmaster of your own theatre, you have your key players and stars, now it is up to you to make the most of those gifts and learn to develop both your strength’s and overcome your weaknesses.
Each aspect and planet can be expressed in either the highest form of energy or the lowest, it is all up to you.  This is meant to be a very brief and introductory explanation of a very complex system we call astrology.  It is by no means a comprehensive treatise.
Bon Voyage…are you prepared?

Jesus said to the 12 apostles: "You have been given the mystery of the Kingdom of God, but to those, the ones outside, everything is given in parables ... so that seeing, they may see and not perceive, " (Mark 4:11-12)

Even Vatican Square, better known as St. Peter’s Square, is designed with the directions, north, south, east and west in mind, and in the very center of the square, an Obelisk: the Obelisk from Egypt; which was first brought to Rome by Emperor Caligula in 37 AD. It originally stood in his circus on a spot to the south of the basilica, close to the present Sacristy.
